Good. If Nearman gets back in, it would be the silver lining to an absolutely horrible session.

What a tragedy if the county commissioners put Nearman back in the state House of Representatives. It will cement the irresponsibility of the Republican Party in Oregon, or at least the party in Benton, Marion, Polk, and Yamhill counties.

Hard to see how he can bean effective as a legislator after being stripped of any committee responsibilities & working with every other Rep that voted to expel him. There’s got to be a better option to represent the voters....

One should never underestimate the self-destructive instincts of today‘s Republican Party.
But putting Nearman back into the office from which he was removed, for reasons best described as seditious and in active support of an attack on the constitutional order, would be a display of extra-ordinary stupidity.
At the very least, the Democrats will be grateful to have a daily reminder on hand to whack the Republicans over the head with their sins. Nearman would be the gift that keeps giving to the other side.

Thankfully, common sense prevailed and the commissioners appointed Anna Scharf to replace Nearman.

If he is put back in...I suppose he will just have to be voted out again.

The people spoke and the politicians ignored them, again. Scharf will be primaried out.

I doubt “the people” support Nearman’s actions.....
