Linfield author to address city club
The event will be held in the McMinnville Grand Ballroom, upstairs at 325 N.E. Third St. Cost is $13 for members and $18 for non-members.
Keesey will discuss her work in a talk called, “The Mill of the Mind: Writing Historically Informed Fiction.” She also will read from her novel, “Little Century,” which won the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize for fiction by an American woman.
In addition to discussing research and writing, she will describe the teaching of writing at Linfield.
Keesey is a graduate of Central High School in Monmouth, Stanford University and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Her shorter fiction and nonfiction pieces have appeared in many journals and anthologies, including Houghton Mifflin’s Best American Short Stories and The Writer Within: Craft Lessons from the Tin House Conference.
