I've driven that bypass in a four axle dump truck. It isn't that tricky. What is wrong with these people?

Maybe a stroke, heart attack or other medical calamity? Lots of possibilities, actually.

Agreed.
However; on one of the local Facebook pages people responded to this wreck by complaining about how awful the bypass is. It isn't engineered as a 70mph freeway but it doesn't need to be. Some of us actually live on one lane roads. All that is usually needed is common sense and courtesy.
