The voters of Lafayette should put pressure on their elected representatives to "kill" this development as soon as possible. If not, they will regret it.
For example, who are the players in this abomination; " The applicant is AKS Engineering and Forestry Co. of Tualatin, the developer is The Holt Group of Vancouver, Washington, and the property owner is Silverado Group of Portland,..."
Lafayette taxpayers will provide funding for; " Lots would be served with city sewer, storm drain lines, streets and water."
Will this project pick-up the entire capital and operational costs for this development? No.
What are the additional Sewer Treatment, Storm Drain and Street costs for life? Are these costs going to amortized by the entire population of Lafayette?
Who will be providing (and paying for) Fire and Police Services?
Now to the housing types and densities;
" On the site, 20 acres are designated medium density and 40 acres low-density. The applicant proposes 23 acres of medium density and 37 acres of low density...
...The developer wants a minimum lot size of 7,500 square feet in the lower density and 5,000 square feet in the higher density."
How many car-parks on the housing lots will be provided?
Does this accursed project rely on "street parking?"
Where is the source of "potable water?"
Another bucolic, rural Yamhill County town is on its' way to destruction.
Get rid of the positions City of Lafayette: City Planner and Economic Development Manager.
