Lafayette resident Ronald Gordon Griffin Jr. was on arrest cycle No. 56 when he was taken into custody early Thursday morning.

A deputy stopped a vehicle driven by Griffin, 38, in Lafayette. He was in violation of his post-prison supervision and a fail to appear warrant had been issued on the charge of driving while revoked.

Griffin has been arrested five times by the sheriff’s office in the past two months for the same driving offense.

In the past two months he has also been charged with delivery and possession of a controlled substance/heroin and methamphetamine based on evidence seized when a search warrant was served on a vehicle he was driving.

Additional charges are pending following a district attorney office review of Griffin’s recent case history.

He is lodged in jail without bail.
