Jack Elbert Inhoff - 1923 - 2019

Jack Inhoff died at home in McMinnville, Oregon, on September 2, 2019. He was born October 20, 1923, to Elbert and Nellie Inhoff in Seward, Illinois. He grew up an active and athletic boy and graduated from West Rockford High School in 1942. He was captain of the swimming team and set some state swimming records. He developed a life-long affinity for golf and skiing.
Jack entered the Army in 1943 and served in the European Theater until the end of World War II. His family moved to Hayward, Wisconsin, which became his new hometown. He met Eileen Tordoff, whom he married in 1951. They were married for 54 years until her passing in 2005. They had two children, Garrick and Kim. Jack continued his Army career for 21 years in the medical field. Jack and his family were sent all over the world by the Army until his retirement in 1966 at the rank of master sergeant in Albuquerque, New Mexico. After retiring, Jack held several hospital administration positions. In 1975, Jack and Eileen moved to Oregon, ending up in McMinnville in 1992.
Jack will be remembered for his dry humor, great stories, love of Dairy Queen blizzards and golf.
He is survived by sons, Garrick and his wife Ana, and Kim and his wife Margaret; and three grandchildren, Angelo, Austyn and Andreas. Also mourning Jack are his brother, Vernon Inhoff and his wife Joyce; brother-in-law, Jerry Tordoff; niece, Joellyn Ackley; and nephew, Gary Inhoff.
A memorial service will be held at Willamette National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 10.
