Elizabeth G. Alexander - 1942-2018

Elizabeth Alexander passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2018, at home in Hillside, McMinnville, Oregon. She was born May 15, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Her parents were David and Lillian Alexander. She is survived by her brother, David C. Alexander (Antoinette) of Novato, California; nieces, Catherine Mishoe (Dave) of Corte Madera, California, and Heather Weingartner (Paul) of Chico, California; and great-nieces and nephews, Emily, Olivia and Jack Alexander, Ryan and Connor Mishoe and Dylan Weingartner.
Liz grew up in Palo Alto, California, and graduated from Paly High School in 1960. She attended San Jose University and obtained a B.A. degree.
Liz spent the majority of her career in San Francisco, working for several major liability and casualty insurance brokers. As a broker, she worked on many large domestic and international accounts. Over the years, she visited McMinnville many times to see and socialize with her longtime friends from San Francisco. Eventually, she moved to McMinnville, where she continued to live until her death. Over the years, Liz knew and enjoyed many very dear friends and colleagues. She especially enjoyed traveling. She made several trips to Mexico, as well as France, England and Asia. A few years ago, she went to Africa on safari.
Liz maintained her friendships over many years and was very protective of them. She was dearly loved by her family and will be greatly missed by all of us.
Her ashes will be interred in Oregon, with a memorial to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests a donation in her memory to the American Lung Association or Legacy Hospice Services, McMinnville.
