While I agree that a Dollar General store would be a benefit of sorts to Amity, I do not agree with the proposed location. That similar stores are a boon to the communities of Dayton and Willamina is probably true. However, neither of those stores are located on what is effectively a highway. Amity is already a clogged thoroughfare at high traffic times. Having that store, which would be located essentially in a residential location, will most likely create a lot more traffic, resulting in the need for a traffic light and increased pedestrian securities established. Is Amity ready for that?
