McMinnvilleans should be very concerned by allowing city officials to accept any, "... technical assistance housing grants..." from the accursed 'Department of Land Conservation and Development."
McMinnville taxpayers will have to contribute 'Matching Funds' to qualify for the 'Grants.' The aforementioned 'Grants' are further infested with additional draconian and insidious development obligations.
The 'insidious development obligations' are manifested in [HB 2001 (2019)], [HB 2003 (2019)] and [SB 8 (2021].

The most evil ramification of the embracing the aforementioned grants and to implement the aforementioned state statutes is the loss of established homes located in once 'single-family residential zoned' neighborhoods.
The article in the NR is exceptionally economical with the ramifications of what is going to happen to McMinnville and all of Oregon-the engineered loss of property ownership.
'Non-Profit Corporations' will buy residential properties, demolish existing homes and replace them with multi-family housing. Property values will plummet. Property owners will sell at a loss (government taking of property) and Nonprofit Corporations will continue to accrue residential properties.
Eventually, Non-Profit Corporations will own all residential properties and further controlling issues such as the elimination of parking for vehicles ("...walkability...").

Non-Profit Corporations will own the land and rent the land out to the owners of the homes built on it. Such a process is already occurring with a specific national 'Non-Profit' in many Oregonian cities but not to the state sponsored and engineered scale of the oncoming tsunami ramifications of communism.
UGBs across Oregon will be expanded further eliminating precious and irreplaceable farmlands for housing. This raises further issues of 'congressional representation' and reliance upon government for housing.
All of the three aforementioned state statues should face serious litigation-all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States-one issue, "the taking of property by government (property values)" for starters.
McMinnville has built enough housing and are under 'No' obligation to house the world. It is past time to pull in the 'welcome mat.'

And then there is the looming issue of limited natural resources to support all these extra human beings-water and food production are chief amongst them.
