Otis
Her signs are littering every major roadway in the county. Makes you wonder why she needs that many? It comes across as being desperate....and it's one of many reasons that voters that supported her in 2020 are now turning away.

Bubba King is a breath of fresh air. It appears to this voter that he will be a true public servant - someone who will represent ALL of us, not just deep pocket special interests and an extreme right wing agenda. I hope our citizens will study Ms. Berschauer's record and vote for change.

Otis's point about littering our roadways and neighborhoods reflects my view, too. These signs are popping up like weeds. Whether we support her or not, the clutter in our landscapes, unlike in large urban areas, is truly an eyesore. Maybe she doesn't yet understand the beauty we hold dear in our rural landscapes? Couldn't she wait until we are closer to the election?

One candidate runs on division. She only serves "her people" (aka her financial supporters and to a lesser extent her voters). She cares not about the long term health of the county, just her short term political wins.
The other candidate is apolitical. Someone that will listen to all sides of an issue. A person that wants to unite and do what's best for the county, both short term and long term.
I am not going to say who I am voting for, but his name rhymes with Kubba Bing.

I met Bubba two weeks ago and had a chance to talk with him for half an hour, and I cannot imagine anyone better representing the best interests of every resident of our county, from McMinnville apartment renter to rural farmer. Our county changes dramatically for the better if this one seat flips into his hands. I’ll do my part to make it happen.

I was looking forward to this to learn more about Bubba. However, I was very disappointed at how unprepared he seemed.
tagup
How was he unprepared?…. I didn’t see the debate, but both candidates had the questions in advance.
From the article, it Seems like he made a couple good points !

NativeOregonian:
I watched the two candidates live on Youtube. Mr. King mentioned he was a bit nervous (he is not a professional politician with polished cookie-cutter talking points) but later the same day I attended a “Meet and Greet” gathering in Yamhill. He was more comfortable in the informal setting and addressed all questions and concerns from fellow citizens extremely well. He is very knowledgeable, and obviously well-versed on county issues. He communicates a platform of common sense, as well as a desire to LISTEN to, and represent his constituents. (I so hope our voters will not be influenced by all those huge expensive vacuous signs that are fouling our county scenery.)
And to you, fellow native Oregonian, I hope you will continue to learn more about Bubba King, and that you will like what you learn.

Tagup, watch the debate. I’ll continue to research Bubba more, but commissioners need to be comfortable speaking up when the pressure is on. One thing with Bubba that concerns me is his willingness to go after “free money”. Grants come with strings attached. The county can’t always accept this “free money” and it’s unfair to imply that our commissioners are doing so without research.

I haven't seen Bubba in action, but I've seen enough of Berschauer. 'Nuff said!

I don't think King's few campaign posters are as airbrushed as Berschauer's thousands.
Don't we have a littering ordinance in this county?

3 reasons you should NOT vote for Lindsay:
1. Lindsay's campaign is funded by the George Family, owners of one of the largest hazelnut processing companies in the country. Nothing wrong with that. Where it becomes very, very wrong is when she represents only the big money that helped get her get elected and blatantly ignores the wishes of the citizen majority.
2. Here's one example of how Lindsay serves her wealthy farmer campaign supporters and ignores pure and simple betterment for citizens: In 2020 Lindsay killed the Yamhelas Westsider Trail, even though construction had already begun and it meant returning hefty private donations and a $1.5 million grant to the state. She killed it because her farmer supporters are against it having regular people (ugh!) sully their lovely part of the county. She killed it even though an online petition in June of 2021 gathered more than 3,200 signatures in favor of the trail.
3. Lindsay appointed six candidates with jaw-dropping conflicts of and lack of qualifications to the county parks advisory board. One of them is her husband. One of them is Celine McCarthy. McCarthy and her husband, Greg, who was convicted in federal court last year of financial fraud, were among the largest campaign finance donors to Lindsay.
4. There are many more examples of this politician's wily undertakings. You'll find them in Mac's News-Register newspaper. Keep informed. Everybody rise up and vote for Bubba King.

We need commissioners who will actually listen to all constituents and county experts in various fields. Right now we have a commission with two very arrogant individuals who represent their donors and no one else. They disregard the county's experts and instead follow their own misguided, uninformed notions. They stuff boards with cronies and family members. They have used their positions and our tax dollars to posture on issues outside of their purview. The third commissioner is essentially a rubber stamp for the other two.
We need a new commission invested in working for all of us, not just the select few. I will be voting for King.

I am so encouraged to read the comments in this article. A friend recently expressed the hope that there is a silent majority of voters in Yamhill County who will rise up and rid the BOC of someone who DOES NOT represent the interests of our citizens in any way. May this hope be realized!
For those who may feel influenced by the proliferation of large garish air-brushed signs, I implore you to evaluate the candidates on a deeper level. Who will actually represent YOU? How do YOU want your tax dollars spent? Is it okay with YOU if the big-money donors continue to control the agenda?
A vote for Bubba King is a vote for true representation.
