Anyone else concerned that the McMinnville Urban Renewal Advisory Committee might be a little outgunned in their negotiations with Palindrome?
Bigfootlives
I'll guarantee they are, but I don't think that matters, B. My question is, is there anyone on that committee who doesn't want to give this property away for free?
HC7891
Why give the property away for free when the city clearly needs the funds for other projects? Like even just maintaining the buildings and parks that we currently have?
Ron
Never made sense from the start somebody should be sued for the RB rubber property. What human being would want to give it away for free and also pay for the interest on the loan. That is insanity you can’t make this stuff up. Maybe Peter should give away his Golden Valley brew pub. Maybe Kelly McDonald should give all his property away in the granary District for free. I don’t know what Walt Gowell owns, but I’ll bet plenty of real estate. Maybe he should give all that away for free. I still have hope for mayor morris to end this ridiculous giveaway. I still can’t see anybody normal liking this idea that Heather Richards has handed to the city of McMinnville.

You folks have more faith in the makeup of the committee than I do. Sal Peralta has voted in support of the purchase of RB Rubber, and the Alpine development right from the start. In past developments, he seems to have voted with the “developer friendly” portion of the council.
Both Kelly McDonald and Peter are good guys, but also good businessmen who own large business properties right next to the Alpine district. AND since their businesses do offer adequate parking (which the Alpine plan doesn’t address), their businesses stand to gain a lot of business. Shouldn’t that factdisqualify them?
