Baby shower: Yamhill Community Care Early Learning Hub will hold a free Community Baby Shower from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at McMinnville Community Center, 600 N.E. Evans St. The drop-in event is for expecting and recently postpartum families; partners and siblings are welcome. Women wWeld: A beginner-level welding class where participants can learn welding skills and make a horseshoe wall coat hanger to take home will be held as a fundraiser for McMinnville Area Habitat for Humanity's Women Build program. Rug braiding: The Yamhill County History Museum presents “Hands on History: Rug Braiding with Sandy Busby,” a hands-on workshop exploring the traditional craft of turning worn clothing and fabric into braided rugs from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Yamhill County History Museum, 11275 S.W. Durham Lane, McMinnville. Participants will create a small braided mat using prepared fabrics while learning the technique and history behind the craft.
