You might note that although the honored visitor has been correctly referred to as the Consul General, he is posted at the Japanese Consulate in Portland. The Embassy is mentioned several times, but the Japanese Embassy is in Wahington, D.C.

Sorry for the confusion of my post. A check of the Portland website lists the office as the Consular Office of Japan in Portland. The embassy is in Washington, D.C.
