Highly disturbing (but not surprising) news. It would have been very helpful if this had been discussed at the George Fox forum last night. The BOC has driven their unrepresentative extremism right off the cliff. We can only hope that this resignation makes it crystal clear that WE NEED A CHANGE. The good people, who ACTUALLY serve the best interests of our citizens, must not be further subjected to such abuse. Thank you to Ms. Bledsoe for her courage, and I look forward to additional information being exposed. Sunlight is the best disinfectant, and knowledge is the key to making the best decisions.
We can begin to put Yamhill County back on the path to decent representative government – we can vote for BUBBA KING!

According to Lindsay Berschauer, Kris Bledsoe resigned 10 minutes after her request for a 20% pay raise was not approved.

If the implication of that comment is that the treasurer resigned because of money, it should be noted that the 2023 compensation committee meeting notes show Ms. Bledsoe made no compensation request and asked that the treasurer salary & hours remain as is..

I did watch Berschauer’s video, it is classic spin and definitely not even slightly persuasive. She seems to think that when she TELLS us what a wonderful job she has done, we should just believe her and not be distracted by all those pesky facts. If the voters are willing to do our research, we do have the power to show her the door.

CJW - it took the courage of her convictions to make this decision, and I agree it is a great loss for Yamhill County. A vote for Bubba King will prove it was not a sacrifice made in vain.

While I understand her distress, Ms Bledsoe’s resignation seems ill conceived. Isn’t she up for reelection? Uncontested? Does this mean that the BOC will appoint their lackey of financial backer (here’s a wink to you Paulette Alexandria and a move up from the planning commission). Then in January, Ms Bledsoe will be seated as the county treasurer again? Or is she not going to be seated as treasurer and let the BOC appoint their same lackey for a four year term?

Let me see if I got this straight,the budget committee deleted 2 positions the was working well to hire a second deputy director because the first director couldn't handle his job. Sounds like too many chiefs and not enough Indians .Wouldn't it be easier to replace the ineffective director instead of adding yet another problem to the mix? Just saying.

The commissioners have been fairly transparent in explaining the “need” for a second deputy administrator despite the position being UNHEARD of in Oregon and even one deputy being rare, especially for a smaller county. The position will be to promote the BOC, to communicate a counter narrative to facts, and to sway public opinion in favor of their extremism antics. More disgusting partisanship and EVEN LESS public service, as is intended in these positions. And Berschauer feels empowered to make these her properties during an election because she believes YC residents either believe her lies or just don’t care. I hope we prove her wrong. Elections don’t look like this until she came to Yamhill county, you know, about 18 months before we elected her to lead (while she rails against outside influence). When will it be enough?!

3 reasons you should NOT vote for Lindsay B. for county commissioner:
1. Lindsay's campaign is funded by the George Family, owners of one of the largest hazelnut processing companies in the country. Nothing wrong with that. Where it becomes very, very wrong is when she represents only the big money that helped get her get elected and blatantly ignores the wishes of the citizen majority.
2. Here's one example of how Lindsay serves her wealthy farmer campaign supporters and ignores pure and simple betterment for citizens: In 2020 Lindsay killed the Yamhelas Westsider Trail, even though construction had already begun and it meant returning hefty private donations and a $1.5 million grant to the state. She killed it because her farmer supporters are against having regular people (ugh!) sully "their" lovely county. She killed it even though an online petition in June of 2021 gathered more than 3,200 signatures in favor of the trail.
3. Lindsay appointed six candidates with jaw-dropping conflicts of and lack of qualifications to the county parks advisory board. One of them is her husband. One of them is Celine McCarthy. McCarthy and her husband, Greg, who was convicted in federal court last year of financial fraud, were among the largest campaign finance donors to Lindsay.
4. There are many more examples of this politician's wily undertakings. You'll find them in Mac's News-Register newspaper. Keep informed. Everybody rise up and vote for Bubba King.
