Seat-swapping duo earns dual DUIIs

Troopers received complaints about the operation of a 1995 Saturn in the vicinity of Wallace Bridge. As they prepared to pull it over, driver Jeffrey M. Spradlin, 44, of Dallas, swapped seats with passenger Angelina A. Rakestraw, 26, of Albany.

Spradlin was so impaired that troopers decided it would not be safe for him to attempt field sobriety tests. His blood alcohol content measured .24, three times the presumptive level of intoxication in Oregon, when he was booked into the Yamhill County Jail.

Toopers judged Rakestraw to also be impaired. They booked her on $5,000 bail on a DUII charge.

Spradlin was booked on $15,000 on charges of DUII, reckless driving and reckless endangering.
