PMC to open in new quarters Monday
The move will be completed over the weekend. To facilitate the move, the clinic will close the doors at its present location, in the former Tanger Outlet Mall, at noon today.
In addition to its group of 16 physicians, PMC will feature a Mac Prescription Shop branch pharmacy, Andrew Physical Therapy and the Northwest Urological Clinic, a long-time partner, in its new quarters. And it will soon be adding a radiology clinic.
“Adding more services makes it more convenient for the patients to get everything out of one area all in one consolidated location,” Gray said.
All elements will share a single reception area in the new configuration. The clinic will also be taking a more direct approach to patient scheduling and adding a medical advice line.
The layout of the new facility, located on west at 2435 N.E. Cumulus Ave., is similar to that of the former, Gray said. But he said it is designed to be more patient-friendly and to accommodate additional providers — both major goals.
The 28,000-square-foot building, which formerly housed Furniture Outlet, has been undergoing extensive renovation all fall and winter.
Columbia State Bank bought it for $1.3 million at a sheriff’s foreclosure sale, then sold it to PMC Investments LLC in April for $1.35 million. The clinic purchased adjacent land for parking from Sartorius Properties LLC, paying $315,000.
PMC has been located in its current quarters since 2002, moving from an older facility on Fifth Street. PHC Construction of Bainbridge Island, a company with extensive experience in retrofitting steel buildings, served the lead contractor on renovation of the new quarters.
