Dances with Redwoods

My most favored candy has always been Licorice. As a kid I use to purchase it in string form at the rate of 1 penny per lineal foot. The plastic bag hadn't been invented yet, so Sam (an old Chinese guy that owned the small local grocery store) used to pull it off the spool, sling it over my shoulder then around my side until my purchasing power (for that day) had been exhausted.
