Legion kicks off monthly luncheons
Sheriff Jack Crabtree and Police Chief Ron Noble will make opening statements.
In a press release, Conseuelo Christianson said the idea grew from the veteran’s summit last fall, hosted by Yamhill County Health and Human Services, the Oregon Department of Veteran’s Affairs and the Oregon National Guard.
Christianson said the idea is to host guest speakers, to provide information about local resources and encourage camaraderie among veterans and their families.
The luncheons are scheduled for 11:30 the third Monday of each month at the Legion Hall, 126 N.E. Atlantic St. They will feature soup, salad, roll and dessert for $5.
Reservations aren’t necessary but would be appreciated. They may be made at 503-435-2218.
