Mr. Ellis wasn't "forced" to shoot his horse, he should have called in a veterinarian. The article doesn't mention what physical attempts, if any, had he actually made towards assisting the mare and foal. What a sad story.

@Paleface, I think it's worse than that. They don't actually confirm that the mare was pregnant at the time of her death, just "healthy and uninjured". It's not easy to trust this guy, given what we know of his thought process.

Makes me sick...the suffering that horse went through before she was shot and left as garbage along side the road. It seems to me that animal abuse charges are in order. But that's just me.
