The Bulldogs went 3-0 on the day, defeating Santiam Christian 29-0, Sheridan 50-3 and Pleasant Hill 24-12. Duals were abbreviated due to incomplete lineups for some times; scoring for forfeits was not accepted.
A pair of state champions squared off when Sheridan’s Justin Acuff faced Willamina’s Skyler Voigt in a 132-pound match. Acuff defeated Voigt by decision, 11-4, for the Spartans’ only points against the Bulldogs. Willamina also held an alumni exhibition before the duals began.
“Things went smoothly, no major injuries, great crowd,” Bulldogs coach Ariah Fasana wrote in an email. “I really can't complain. The season is really winding down. We are looking to be in good shape (conditioning), but still need to work on some of our technique in some situations. I was really impressed with the boys tonight though, they really wrestled tough.”
Dual meet scores for Sheridan against Pleasant Hill and Santiam Christian were unavailable at press time.
