County finalizes contract with union
The two-year contract is retroactive to July 1, the start of the county’s 2012-13 fiscal year. It replaces a contract that expired June 30.
Terms call for 1.5 percent cost of living increases this year and next and addition of two more steps on the experience scale.
Deputies with 10 years of continuous service to the county will be eligible for Step 8, those with 15 years of continuous service, Step 9. Previously, they topped out at 10 years.
The county agreed to fill an open position, and to not cut any positions during the term of the contract, barring catastrophic developments.
