The Newberg-Dundee Bypass has reached the "no turning back stage" which has been the goal. No amount of logic will turn around this project now. We will be stuck with a dangerous two-lane truck filled highway for decades that might save five minutes of travel time. The alternative was to have had four travel lanes through Dundee just like most highways that pass through Oregon cities. That was too simple however, even though that solution would have been hundreds of millions of dollars less costly. Now this project will have the title as the most expensive project in ODOT history.
