Auction fundraiser nets $64,000
Nov 1, 2012
The 19th annual Celebrate The Children dinner and auction fundraiser, held in October, raised $64,000 for McMinnville’s Juliette’s House Child Abuse Intervention Center.
That includes $12,000 in donations specifically for its Safe Kids in-school abuse intervention and prevention workshops, aimed at children in grades K-5.
Chef Craig Haagenson provided a buffet dinner. The jazz duo of Jonathan Swanson and Tim Gilson prepared dinner accompaniment and the Soul Shot Dance Band after-dinner dance music.
The live and silent auctions featured donations from individuals, agencies and businesses throughout Yamhill County.
“The night was a success thanks to the generosity of our many event sponsors and contributors, the time and energy of our dedicated staff, board members, vendors and volunteers and the gratifying willingness of so many to be part of our community’s response to child abuse,” said Francine Fiore, development director. “Juliette’s House is grateful for this extraordinary support and for all the generosity and kindness it receives all year long.”
