While I support the need for transitional housing I find Mr. Higgins comments hypocritical at best.

Higgins advocated for administrative approval of projects to avoid neighborhood complaints.

“Anything we can do to address things in code ahead of time and minimize the NIMBYism…I’m for,” Higgins said. “Stridently for.”

So if I read this correctly anything the City can do to reduce neighborhood and community input he is for.

Mr. Higgins given the fact you not only live in Newberg and have your business located and focused in Newberg I can see why you are more than willing to circumvent the process here in McMinnville. Maybe your motivation is that's fine for Mac but NIMBY Newberg.

Mr. Higgins I suggest you spend a little more time keeping your side of the street clean and less time worrying about our side!

I'm really glad to find out that there is a committee working on transitional housing for McMinnville! Whatever comes of this I believe it needs to be on the "fast track" in order to curb the current dehumanizing practices of the city government towards our un-housed neighbors.
