Willamina board discusses projects

WILLAMINA - The Willamina School Board will discuss on-going projects on the Oaken Hills Drive campus when it meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the library.

An executive session, not open to the public, will follow the regular meeting. The board will meet "to consider the employment of a public officer," according to the agenda.

Three superintendent candidates have been interviewed for the position that will be vacated by the retiring Gus Forster at the end of this school year. They are:

Nancy Moon, principal at the K-12 Gustavus-Klukwan School in the Chatham School District in Gustavus, Alaska; David Phelps, interim superintendent in the Nestucca Valley School District in Cloverdale, on the Oregon coast; and Carrie Zimbrick, principal at Willamina Elementary School.

The board must make a hire in open session, but that is not expected to happen Tuesday.

For information, call the district office at 503-876-4525.
