Y-C adopts 2013-14 school budget
Cline said PERS reform action by the Legislature could potentially save the district about $200,000. If it materializes, he proposes spending the money this way:
A half-time teacher for the Alliance Academy, $45,000 when benefits are figured in; computer labs in each of the three schools, $60,000; other technology upgrades, $20,000; additional secretarial time, $5,000; contract with George Fox University for school psychologist services, $16,140; and the rest to the district’s contingency fund.
Board member Tim Pfeiffer suggested that some money be earmarked for facilities.
He said there is a strong need in that area. “This thing is falling down around our ears,” he said.
The board next meets in regular session at 7 p.m. Monday, July 8. It will follow a work session, also open to the public, set for 6:45.
