Women's Club hosts Pioneer Day
A blacksmith will demonstrate the work that took place during the days when the Dundee blacksmith shop was opened by Bernhard Groth in 1892 at the corner of Ninth Street and 99W. Fiber spinners will show how pioneer women spun wool and other fibers to make clothing for their families.
A pioneer kitchen will demonstrate how women had to work to feed their families. A pioneer lunch of stew, cornbread and apple pie will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at a cost of $8 for adults and $4 for children through age 12.
