This is a great project! The sooner we learn about investing, the better off we all will be. My only issue with this particular model is that each student picks only one company. It is this approach that scares people who don't understand how investing works. "You could lose all your money!" they exclaim. Here is what I have done for my blog: - I've started what I call the Model Portfolio Index (MPI). I pretended to invest $10,000 in five stocks at the very beginning of 2012.

great project, kids need to start thinking about investing at a younger age - when you get a retirement option at 21, most people don't even think about it, so hopefully this will change that for these kids
