State playoff, play-in games on tap

Boys and girls basketball teams from across Yamhill County will play in OSAA state play-in and playoff games tonight and Saturday.

The McMinnville girls basketball team hosts McKay tonight at 7:15 p.m. at The Furnace in Class 6A state play-in action. The McMinnville boys basketball team has qualified for the Class 6A state playoffs and will host a game Wednesday night against an opponent to be determined.

The Willamina girls basketball team hosts Coquille tonight at 6 p.m. in a Class 3A state playoff game. The Amity girls basketball team travels to Nyssa tonight for a 7:30 p.m. playoff game.

The Amity boys basketball team stays home for its Class 3A first-round playoff game, with Bandon coming to Amity for a 7 p.m. tilt Saturday. The Dayton boys basketball team plays Blanchet Catholic in Salem Saturday at 7 p.m.

In Class 4A, the Yamhill-Carlton boys basketball team takes on North Marion Saturday at 4 p.m. in Yamhill.

Western Mennonite will play host to a pair of Class 2A state playoff games. The girls will take on Bonanza tonight at 6 p.m., with the boys facing Riverdale Saturday night at 7 p.m.

The Perrydale girls basketball team, having defeated City Christian in Class 1A state play-in action Tuesday night, heads to Dufur tonight to take on the Rangers at 6:30 p.m.
