Sheriff's office still trying to ID body

Detectives had the body examined by a forensic anthropologist from the state Medical Examiner’s Office. The anthropologist determined the body was that of a 20- to 30-year-old Latino or mixed Anglo and Latino male ranging in height from 5-foot-3 to 5-foot-8.

It’s believed the body had been in the water between six months and two years. Due to the degree of decomposition, there were no visible identifying marks, other than a wrap of some kind around the lower right leg, suggesting either an injury or a chronic condition like tendinitis.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Special Investigations Unit at 503-434-7508.

It was found about two or three miles down from the Wheatland Ferry crossing. By down, I would assume down river.
