Political debate booked at Linfield
Corey Robin of Brooklyn College will represent the left end of the political spectrum, and Mark Blitz of Claremont McKenna College the right. They will offer their opinions on the source of American freedom and respond to questions facing Americans today.
Robin, associate professor of political science at Brooklyn College and the CUNY Graduate Center, is working on a book about the political theory of the free market. His past works include “The Reactionary Mind: Conservatism from Edmund Burke to Sarah Palin” and “Fear: The History of a Political Idea.”
Blitz, Fletcher Jones professor of political philosophy at Claremont McKenna College and a fellow of the Claremont Institute, is co-editor of “Educating the Prince: Essays in Honor of Harvey Mansfield.” He is also the author of “Conserving Liberty,” “Plato’s Political Philosophy,” “Duty Bound: Responsibility and American Public Life” and “Heidegger’s Being and Time and the Possibility of Political Philosophy.”
