Unfortunately, sex abuse is trivialized by the type of offences that are in question here. Putting Mr. McDonald in the same pigeonhole as the middle aged pervs who victimize youth is ridiculous. There was only 4 years difference between the two. Had he waited a year there would have been no problem, but how many of you had that logical of a mind when you were 19?

I hope he comes back in one piece from Afghanistan.

it's really time for the courts to start looking at these "offenses" differently - 15 and 19 is different than 12 and 22 - so many young men are being arrested and labeled as sex criminals for having a loving relationship with someone who is too young --- again, 14 or younger is different - and being older than a teen is also different but c'mon, i know a kid who got deported because of something like this - there was a 3 year difference between them, the parents of the girl were ok with it, she eventually got pregnant, when things didn't work out between them after 2 years, she called the cops on him - crazy stuff

A 19 year old having sex with a 15 year old is against the law, and every male anywhere close to approaching his18th birthday knows that. So,the consiquences of his actions have been earned ... 'eyes wide open'

I don't feel the least bit sorry for him.
