Jun 6, 2014
A McMinnville teenager was arrested Friday on charges that allege he sexually assaulted four juvenile females over a three-year period.
Capt. Dennis Marks of the McMinnville police identified the suspect as Fernando Rivera Serratos, 18.
He was charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse and one count each of first-degree rape, first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and third-degree sexual abuse. The charges include Measure 11 offenses, which carry a mandatory minimum prison sentence on conviction.
Bail was set at $220,000 pending arraignment in Yamhill County Circuit Court.
Marks gave this account:
In early May of this year, officers took a report about a teenage juvenile female who alleged she had been sexually assaulted by Serratos about a year ago. The victim also said another female had also been sexually assaulted by him.
After significant interviews and investigation, detectives have identified and interviewed four victims. The assaults allegedly occurred over a three-year period of time, and as recently as the last few weeks in locations throughout McMinnville.
All of the victims were acquainted with Serratos prior to the alleged assaults. Police have no information regarding further victims.
Anyone with information related to these incidents should call Detective Michelle Formway at 503-434-2340.
