Museum hosts balloon rally
Balloons will lift off just after sunrise each morning. On Saturday, an evening event, or “night glow,” is planned.
Friday will be an education day, with special activities for students. Youngsters also will get to help set up and inflate a balloon; some will get to ride along.
Saturday will include a breakfast at 7:30 a.m., roughly coinciding with the return of the balloons that have flown over the countryside earlier in the morning. Breakfast, including museum admission, costs $27 for adults, $22 for children and $25 for seniors.
Saturday evening’s night glow event will begin at 6 p.m. with music on the lawn by the Frank Messina Band. Food, beer and wine will be for sale. The balloons will rise and fire up starting about 8:15 p.m.
Sunday morning will bring another balloon fly-out. Some balloons will offer rides at a cost of $400 for two people.
