Husband and wife hurt in crash
Richard James Roberts, 72, and Paulette Cheryl Presley, 56, of 4155 N.E. Three Mile Lane, No. 112, McMinnville, were both transported by Life Flight helicopter to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland with serious injuries, according to Capt. Tim Svenson of the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office. He gave this account:
About 3:30 p.m., Roberts was riding a 2012 Harley-Davidson and Presley a 2001 three-wheel Harley. Riding in tandem, they were northbound on Westside Road, en route to a friend’s house on Bride Lane.
When they slowed to turn onto Bride Lane, Roberts’ motorcycle came into contact with his wife’s. He was thrown into a ditch as her motorcycle flipped.
Both were wearing helmets.
