Three stray cats have adopted me in the past two years, two of which I've had to neuter at the vet. I never cease to be amazed at some people's lack of a sense of responsibility.

Thank you for all you do Homeward Bound!

I feel for the families who were on stable legs and then had to make the devastating choice of giving up their pet when things hit a financial crisis. I had my dog from puppy-hood and she stood by my side for 12 years. My life took a financial hardship I just could not avoid and I had to turn her over to the animal shelter in Salem in hopes they could find her a loving home that could afford her monthly food and care- little did I know that our situation would change rather quickly afterwards.
I have never cried so hard in my life. I miss her terribly and think of her often. If I could have her back I would in a second. It truly was the hardest thing I have had to do and the guilt is sometimes unbearable as I know she would never have abandoned me.
It is shelters like that one and homeward bound that need community support- they really do so much good for the animals. Help support them anyway you can!
