Driver charged after leading police on high-speed chase

Dylan Spencer Kent, 30, was charged with felony attempt to elude, misdemeanor attempt to elude on foot, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and driving while suspended. He was lodged into Yamhill County Jail on $30,000 bail.
State police gave the following account:
Kent was driving eats on Highway 18 near milepost 29 when a trooper clocked his 2008 Acura at 99 mph just before noon. The officer gave chase, but the driver failed to yield to the patrol car's lights and siren, speeding up to more than 100 mph and passing other traffic on the left and right.
Deputies from Yamhill and Polk counties joined the chase as it continued east on Highway 18 just before noon.
Near milepost 42, the Acura turned of Highway 18 toward the Riverbend Landfill and stopped. Kent got out and fled. A trooper chased him on foot for more than 200 yards before he surrendered to police.
A woman was riding in the vehicle. She was not charged.
