if people are going in to debt to put food on the table, that's one thing (althought you still need to pay it back!) but there are so many people who put fancy clothes, games, eating out, etc. on credit cards and then can't make the payments - well, if you can't afford it, don't buy it! If you bought something when you thought you would afford it and then lost your job, talk to the credit card company, many times they are more willing to reduce the minimum payment or help you to take care of the debt. Some people are just irresponsible with credit and money.
