Commissioners approve Homeland Security grant applications

The four applications seek $135,820 for a communications system upgrade for the county, $205,750 for radios for the Newberg-Dundee police, $184,175 for radios for the Newberg Fire Department and $20,000 for the outfitting of a Carlton Police Department mobile command center.

Friendsview Manor is wholly responsible for the bond. As part of Oregon law, counties and municipalities can create Hospital Authority Boards to issue bonds for nonprofit hospitals, and the county agreed to do so in a facilitating role.
