Carlton Council grants water to residence outside city
Eastman said the cost of digging a sufficient well would be prohibitive and the water might not be drinkable anyway.
He said he and his wife started construction with the assumption they could hook up to city water. He said several neighbors are on city water; those properties had been grandfathered in.
In other business, the council:
* Agreed to contract with a new information technology firm, Evosus Solutions.
* Decided sidewalks for the public works building planned next to Wennerberg Park could be deferred for three years or until the neighboring property is developed.
