Bonamici to host town hall Monday
The campus is located at 288 N.E. Norton Lane, off McMinnville’s Highway 18 Bypass. The town hall will be held in Room 101.
The newest member of Oregon’s congressional delegation — and the only woman — is home holding a series of spring town halls throughout the district.
The former state legislator won convincing primary and general election victories last year to claim the seat formerly held by fellow Democrat David Wu.
She is serving on the House Budget Committee and House Science, Space and Technology Committee. Her subcommittee assignments focus on education, research, technology and innovation.
In addition to the town hall, Bonamici plans to visit the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. She has also scheduled tours of the Federal Correctional Institution and Pacific Wood Preserving plant in Sheridan
Finally, Bonamici will meet with Unidos Bridging Communities in McMinnville to discuss comprehensive immigration reform, according to her communications director, Mike Melosi.
He said the tours and Unidos meetings aren’t open to the public, but people with questions and concerns about any of those subjects are encouraged to attend Monday’s town hall. “As Congress takes up that issue, Bonamici will launch an immigration listening tour with dates to be announced soon,” he said.
