Arrest made in McMinnville man's murder
Taken into custody by Salem police, Pedro Delgado Suarez, 21, was arraigned Monday afternoon in Marion County Circuit Court. He is being held without bail in the Marion County Jail.
The 32-year-old Entizne, whose last known McMinnville address was on Southwest Taylor Drive, was found dead about 3 a.m. near the intersection of Fairway Drive and Rees Hill Road in Southeast Salem.
The intersection is in a residential area near Commercial Street and Sunnyside Road. It features apartments, condos, single-family homes and a park.
Salem police responded to a shots fired report and discovered a silver sedan off the roadway in dense underbrush. Tire tracks led from the intersection to the car.
Officers discovered Entizne’s body inside. An autopsy determined he died of a gunshot wound.
According to a search warrant affidavit made public by the Salem Statesman Journal, Suarez served as a lookout for the killers, who ambushed their quarry as he drove past. Positioning himself alongside Rees Hill Road, Suarez agreed to honk if he saw a police officer approaching and drive off as soon as he heard gunshots, the affidavit said.
Suarez told detectives the decision to shoot Entizne was made April 5. Suarez initially denied involvement, but eventually admitted complicity and described his role, police said.
The shooters are being sought. Anyone with potentially relevant information is asked to call 503-588-6050.
