Mac man busted for child porn

Identified as Clayton Christopher Smith, 50, he was booked on $100,000 bail. He was later released, after posting the required 10 percent.

Capt. Dennis Marks of the McMinnville police gve this account:

In January, the center informed McMinnville police that a local internet protocol address was being using in the sending, receiving and/or sharing of pornographic images of children.

Detectives launched an investigation aimed at verifying the computer IP address and the user. The results gave them enough evidence to support issuance of a search warrant for Smith’s residence on Southwest Brockwood Avenue.

Following execution of the warrant, Smith was taken into custody.

Primarily funded by the Justice Department, the national center acts as an information clearinghouse for parents, children, police agencies, school systems and communities in locating missing children and fighting child pornography, abduction and sexual abuse.
