Feds are soliciting forestry proposals

This will be the second round of projects. Last year, $620,000 was allocated to 29 projects, both on and off national forest lands.

Proposals are due by March 31. They will be reviewed by the forest Resource Advisory Committee in June.

Proposals may be submitted by individuals, nonprofits, local governments and others. Possible missions include restoring watersheds, decommissioning roads or trails, upgrading roads or trails, improving soil productivity, restoring or maintaining fish and wildlife habitat, controlling noxious weeds and re-establishing native species.

They do not need to be implemented on Forest Service lands, but must show a benefit to national forest resources.
