Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Dohrmann speaking at Linfield

Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and Sports Illustrated senior writer George Dohrmann will be speaking at Linfield College Monday, Oct. 26, at 5 p.m. in Riley Hall, room 201. 

Dohrmann, also an adjunct professor at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, will be speaking about journalism and sports in his lecture, "Confessions of a Sports Reporter."

Dohrmann is a previous winner of the PEN/ESPN Award for Literary Sportswriting and the Award for Excellence in the Coverage of Youth Sports. He earned his Pulitzer Prize in 2000 as a reporter with the St. Paul (Minnesota) Pioneer Press for his investigation of academic fraud in the University of Minnesota men's basketball program.

He is also the author of "Play Their Hearts Out," an award-winning 2012 book on an Amateur Athletic Union basketball team based in Southern California.

The talk, sponsored by Linfield's Mass Communication Department, Nicholson Library and the Sport Management program, is free and open to the public.
