No current West Valley evacuations planned

Smoke is extremely dense in the West Valley, due in part to the Willamina Creek Fire, burning nine miles north of Willamina.

No evacuation plans are in the works, according to Sheridan Fire District spokesman Wes Rolfson.

"The Yamhill County Emergency Management office is responsible for making those decision," he said. "It is working closely with the Oregon Department of Forestry and other agencies."

Sheridan City Manager Frank Sheridan said, "The district and I do not believe there are any plans for a major evacuation of the area."
