MCMINNVILLE – It took a while, but eventually the picture at Wortman Stadium on Monday night became perfectly clear: The McMinnville Grizzlies are on quite a tear.

The Grizzlies’ girls soccer squad cranked up the intensity after the first 20 minutes and walked away from the evening with a trio of goals and their third consecutive Class 6A Greater Valley Conference win, a 3-0 decision over the West Albany Bulldogs.

Veronica Marquez, Hailey Sahagun and Carlisle Topping each netted a goal for the Grizzlies, who are now winners of three consecutive conference matches as they try to claw their way into the GVC playoff picture.

McMinnville (6-3-3, 3-2-1 GVC) has not allowed a goal since at Wortman Stadium since Sept. 29. They’ll visit McKay on Thursday; match time is set for 4 p.m.
