We are currently in the process of moving to McMinnville from out of state. One of our major considerations for moving here was the very affordable rates for water and electricity.
Lulu
Hahahaha. They raise rates for all sorts of reasons--the homeless, for example. And nothing stops them.

Suede. We're lucky here. Even if Water & Light is a city owned operations with elected city officials on it's Board of Directors, yeah, it is a socialist kind of operation. Been that way for decades. No ultra mega millions for management, no investor dividends. Unlike that utility in California, Water & Light pays attention and fixes and replaces things before they brake if they can. But there are a lot of folks who don't appreciate that they aren't paying huge water and light bills.

Lulu- as was explained to you previously, W&L did not raise their rates for the homeless....it was a city decision...
Sponge
Mike, W&L is not “city owned”, nor do “elected city officials” sit on its board of directors. The mayor does serve as “ex officio” head of the commission, but that is all.
