Talk looks at Oregon's Hispanic past

“The Hispanic Origins of Oregon” will be the subject of a “Secrets of the Past” series program at the Yamhill County History Museum Tuesday, April 21. Admission is $5 to the program, which will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Matias Trejo De Dios of the Instituto de Cultura Oregoniana will discuss the era of trade between Native Americans, Hispanics, British and Russians along the Pacific Coast from 1543 and 1819. His studies cover more than 250 years of little-known history of the American Northwest, offering examples of the ethnic diversity of Hispanic expedition teams.
