Vote NO Libs ruin everything!

Don Dix

Really, spending $100K+ on this back and forth? That's about the sorriest use of $ at this point in time, especially when it could be used to help a multitude of non-profits that really need it (Habitat, Juliet House, See Ya Later, etc.). Sick priorities!

Interesting perspective. I know someone else who considers recalls to be a waste. I asked if that person had done any research into Berschauer’s conduct in office, the answer was NO. We all have a point of view, informed or uninformed. I suppose the fact that many voters do not pay property taxes to support Yamhill County’s administrative costs could factor in? (The illusion may be that they don’t believe they have any skin in the game?) Or the lack of interest in how a Commissioner treats other employees? (The videos are there for anyone to watch.) Or awareness of the irresponsible demands on the health department? Or the unethical “requests” made to other departments? Or the vindictive doxing of opponents/ If someone manages to acquire a place on the team should we just stand by and allow abysmal performance on the field to continue until the season is over?

Surely it is obvious that Berschauer could have called a halt to the ongoing expenses by resigning? If the grassroots fundraising and citizen participation succeeds in removing this toxic influence from the Board, and prevents another two years of maladministration, it will be money (some of it mine) WELL SPENT!

The recall priorities are clearly documented and appropriate, it is complacency that would qualify as “sick.”

And there it is -- an argument that it's much better to contribute to a political issue than it is to give that $ to local people and organizations that are in the business of helping others -- yeah, you run with that!

If you like Truth, Justice, Equality, and Democracy VOTE YES.
If you like ethnonationalism/anti-LGBTQ, Bullying, and corruption VOTE NO.

Mr. Dix
If you are suggesting that because I (or anyone else) support the recall, that means we would do so INSTEAD of supporting the worthy charities mentioned in your earlier post, with all due respect - you are mistaken. This is not an either/or. I do, however, agree that millions x millions of dollars are tragically wasted on pointless “campaign spending,” the ONLY purpose of which is to degrade and denigrate the opposition with no regard whatsoever for promoting good government or improving the quality of life for the citizens. This recall is not that. We are trying to correct a serious problem, not waste resources creating false discord among the voters. If our county can be returned to ethical governance, who is to say the charities won’t benefit too?

Don Dix

One's written opposition to a more effective and humane use of donations reveals the genuine belief -- own it!

Don-Please point out the “written opposition...” you speak of?....Your gotcha moment isn’t apparent to me.
The previous poster explicitly agreed that millions of dollars are wasted on campaign spending...isn’t that your point?

Don Dix

No -- Re-read my first post and the following response -- first one says this recall spending is the 'sorriest use of $' -- the response claims (his/hers) is money 'WELL SPENT'. Hardly confusing or obscure.
